韓国で開催のピョンチャン2018冬季オリンピックのスポンサー契約解除を要請します。

デズモンドTutu司教こう述べています「不正の状況で中立であるならば、あなたは圧制者の側を選びました。」オリンピックのスポンサーである御社には、韓国における罪も無い犬猫に対する虐待をやめるように韓国政府に影響を与える力があります。

韓国では毎年250万匹の犬が電撃死、首吊り、そして殴り殺されています。

多くの韓国人は動物がより苦しめばその肉の旨みは増し、薬効も増すという言い伝えを信じているために、彼らが思いつく限りの最悪な方法により殺されています。猫も同様に、「健康トニック」と呼ばれるスープを作るために何千匹も殺されています。生きたまま熱湯に放り込まれるのです。犬を食べる習慣は韓国全土で受け入れられている訳ではありません。韓国で終戦後に流行りだしたものです。そして欲深い料理店店主と肉取引業者そして肉屋の結託により今日まで続けられているのです。

過去10年間で、韓国の多くの人々は、犬と猫はペットであるとの概念を受け入れています。

しかし、犬肉と猫肉の法律で禁止し、違法であり不正行為であり、不潔な産業を永遠に禁止するように韓国政府を説得せねばなりません。不潔なオリに入れられている犬や猫は、仲間が拷問され殺されるのを目の前で見せつけられている光景にはぞっとします。拷問役の人が「死ぬまでに苦しめば苦しむほど味が良くなる」と言いながら、その言葉通りに、犬を生きたままバラバラに切り刻んだと実際に目で見た人が証言しています。どのような生き物に対してでもこのような行為は断固許されるべきものではありません。経済や政治の争いを乗り越え、社会の人々が精神的に結びつくことができるという事が2012年のオリンピックでわかりました。資源の乏しい小さな国でも、外されることも、取り残される事も無く、才能を発揮するチャンスがありました。

共に参加したボランティアの人々も含め皆が平等に輝くチャンスを与えられました。我々人間同士そしてこの世に生ある全ての生き物に対して理解と同情を示し、声なき者の為に立ち上がる事がどれほど重要かということを世界中の人々はすでに知っています。

正しい行いにより尊敬をされ、さらにはビジネスを構築する事にもなります。今こそ御社のようなトップクラスのブランド企業が「変化」という名の聖火を運ぶ時です。

どうか御社の顧客を尊重して下さい。

表現し難い残虐行為と抑圧を生み出している国を支持しないで下さい。これらの残虐行為を直ちに禁止にする事、それが実行されるまでスポンサー契約を解除する事を強く主張して頂きたいと思います。

To the International Olympic Committee:
I am extremely distressed about the torture and consumption of animal companions in South Korea. Even though the government has established an Animal Protection Law, dogs are still electrocuted, hanged, and beaten to death by farmers and slaughters. Also, dogs and cats are still being tortured and boiled alive for so-called elixirs, which have no medicinal properties except in the minds of gullible customers. Until South Korea ends this appalling suffering, the country’s reputation in the international community will continue to suffer. Its citizens will face shame and embarrassment. And South Korea will continue to be regarded as “third world,” despite its glittering modernization and attempts at globalized thinking. There will be worldwide attempts to boycott “PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics unless the abuse of cats and dogs has finally come to an end.
