L’Alpe Devero è un ambiente alpino meraviglioso: montagne aspre e dolci, orizzonti sconfinati. Larici, acque e pascoli. Un ambiente ospitale e accessibile a tutti. Gestori e pastori offrono accoglienza e prodotti tradizionali con un modello sostenibile e in espansione. In molti la amano e frequentano, estate e inverno.

Tra gli aderenti al “Comitato Tutela Alpe Devero” sono Mountain Wilderness, LIPU, Legambiente VCO, Italia Nostra VCO, Salviamo il Paesaggio Valdossola, Pro Natura Piemonte, la Compagnia dei Cammini, che difendono il Devero. Anche il CAI dichiara: "Come CAI siamo impegnati per lo sviluppo sostenibile delle Terre alte e per porre fine alla devastazione dell’ambiente montano operato nel secolo e nei decenni scorsi. Siamo contrari alla realizzazione di nuove infrastrutture, nuovi impianti o all’ampliamento degli esistenti”. (E. Quartiani, Vicepresidente CAI, Montagne360, maggio 2018).

La tutela della natura ha dei costi: AIUTACI CON UNA DONAZIONE

Il Devero è minacciato dal progetto di un comprensorio sciistico denominato “Avvicinare le Montagne”. Un piano proposto dalla società privata San Domenico Ski, in accordo con la Provincia e quattro Comuni, che porterebbe al degrado di questa meravigliosa regione delle Alpi.

• Il progetto danneggia per sempre il paesaggio e l’ambiente: invece che bellezza, silenzio e biodiversità si vogliono impianti permanenti e invasivi. Seggiovie a sei posti con cupole in plastica, alti piloni, stazioni di 60 metri di lunghezza, bar e punti panoramici in cemento, bacini e cannoni per la neve artificiale, nuove piste da sci e slittini.
• Il piano mira a collegare Devero a San Domenico tramite una funivia di 60 posti, con grandi piloni e due enormi stazioni: un impianto nuovo, non consentito in un’area tutelata, che diverrebbe però “inevitabile” una volta realizzato il resto.

• Un progetto proposto in gran parte in zone protette: l’area confinante col Parco Veglia Devero è tutelata dal Piano Paesaggistico Regionale approvato nel 2017 e riconosciuta dall’Unione Europea tra le “Zone Speciali di Conservazione” di grande interesse comunitario per garantire habitat, flora e fauna rari.
• Se si inizia qui, quanti altri ambienti verranno calpestati?
• Un complesso sciistico fuori tempo, basato su un modello turistico in calo per motivi economici, climatici e culturali. Ogni anno noi contribuenti spendiamo milioni di euro per ripianare le perdite delle stazioni sciistiche.
• Un investimento privato di 130 milioni di Euro che ha come condizione una spesa pubblica di quasi 43 milioni di Euro.
• Un progetto che porterebbe forse benefici per pochi e certamente danni irreparabili e permanenti per tutti

Vogliamo consegnare ai nostri figli  un ambiente unico nelle Alpi: l’incanto del Devero che è giunto fino a noi.

Per questo chiediamo di respingere il Piano Strategico “Avvicinare le Montagne”.

“Avvicinare le Montagne” è stato ritirato; non è riuscito a superare la necessaria Valutazione Ambientale Strategica (VAS). Ma i proponenti intendono riproporre i diversi interventi, uno alla volta, cercando autorizzazioni locali che esulano dalla valutazione dell'impatto complessivo (VAS) confidando in una loro più facile approvazione. La minaccia non è sventata!

Stop building new installations, more Nature for all.

On the border of the Veglia-Devero Natural Park, new ski lifts and ski slopes are on their way: let's save Alpe Devero!

Alpe Devero is a wonderful alpine environment: mountains both rugged and smooth, boundless horizons, larches, water and pastures; a welcoming environment accessible to everyone, where local shepherds and business operators offer hospitality and traditional products based on a sustainable and expanding model. Alpe Devero attracts many devoted visitors, in both summer and winter.

Devero is threatened with a ski area called "Bringing the Mountains Closer Together", a project proposed by the VCO Province and four Municipalities in agreement with private company San Domenico Ski, which would severely damage this wonderful alpine region.

• The project would spoil the landscape and the environment forever: permanent and invasive installations would permanently replace beauty, silence and biodiversity. Six-seater chairlifts with plastic domes, tall pylons, 60-meter-long stations, coffee shops and concrete observation decks, storage ponds for snow-making machines, new ski and sled slopes.
• The aim is to connect Alpe Devero to San Domenico, through a new 60-seat cablecar system, with large pylons and two huge stations: normally, this would not be allowed in a protected area, but would become inevitable once the rest has been completed.
• A project mainly affecting protected areas: the area bordering the Veglia-Devero Park is protected by the Regional Landscape Plan approved in 2017, and recognised by the European Union among the "Special Conservation Areas" of great community interest for habitat, and rare wildlife.
•  If we let this happen, how many other environments will be ruined?
•  An out-of-date ski resort based on a tourist development model declining for economic, climatic and cultural reasons. Taxpayers spend millions of euros to cover the losses of these ski resorts.
•  A private investment of 130 million euros involving a public expenditure of about 43 million euros.
•  A project that might bring benefits to a few, but would certainly bring about irreparable and permanent damage for many.

We believe that our children – like so many generations before them –
should be able to enjoy this pristine alpine environment.
For this reason we ask the "Avvicinare le Montagne" project
to be rejected.

 ‘Avvicinare le Montagne’ has been withdrawn.The plan failed to pass the ‘Valutazione Ambientale Strategica (VAS), a national statutory assessment to evaluate the environmental impact of the project. 

The strategy of the players of the grand plan has changed as they are now proposing similar projects on an individual basis, rather than as part of a larger one.

The idea behind this is to get the individual projects evaluated and approved locally, without triggering the national evaluation process of the VAS.

Am Rande des Naturparks Veglia Devero sind neue Lifte und Skipisten in Planung: lasst uns die Alpe Devero retten!

Die Alpe Devero besitzt eine wunderbare alpine Landschaft: schroffe und auch sanfte Berge, grenzenlose Weitblicke. Lärchen, Gewässer und Weiden. Eine einladende Umgebung, die für jedermann zugänglich ist. Betreiber und Hirten bieten Gastfreundschaft und traditionelle Produkte mit einem nachhaltigen und expandierenden Modell an. Viele lieben Devero und besuchen es sowohl im Sommer als auch im Winter.

Das Alpe Devero Protection Committee besteht unter anderem aus Mountain Wilderness, Legambiente VCO, Italia Nostra VCO, Salviamo il Paesaggio Valdossola, Pro Natura Piemonte,  die Alpe Devero verteidigen. Auch der italienische Alpenverein (CAI) erklärt: "Als CAI  engagieren wir uns für die nachhaltige Entwicklung des Hochlandes und dafür, der Verwüstung der Bergwelt, die in den vergangenen Jahrhunderten und Jahrzehnten betrieben wurde, ein Ende zu machen. Wir sind gegen den Bau neuer Infrastrukturen, neuer Anlagen oder die Erweiterung bereits bestehender Anlagen.“ (E. Quartiani, Vizepräsident CAI, Montagne360, Mai 2018)

Einvernehmen mit der Provinz und vier Gemeinden vorgeschlagen und könnte zur Zerstörung dieser wunderbaren Alpenregion führen.

• Das Projekt schädigt die Landschaft und die Umwelt für immer. Statt Schönheit, Ruhe und Artenvielfalt sind permanente und invasive Skigebiete geplant: Sechssitzer-Sessellifte mit Kunststoffkuppeln, hohe Masten, 60 Meter lange Bergstationen, Bars und Aussichtspunkte aus Beton, Becken und Kanonen für Kunstschnee, neue Skipisten und Rodelbahnen.
• Der Plan sieht vor, Devero über eine 60-Personen-Seilbahn mit großen Masten und zwei riesigen Stationen mit San Domenico zu verbinden: ein neues System, das in einem geschützten Bereich nicht erlaubt ist, welches aber "unvermeidlich" werden würde, sobald der Rest verwirklicht worden ist.
• Dieses Projekt wird hauptsächlich in Schutzgebieten vorgeschlagen: das Gebiet, das an den Park Veglia Devero grenzt, ist durch den im Jahr 2017 genehmigten Regionalen Landschaftsplan geschützt und wird von der Europäischen Union als eine der "Besonderen Schutzgebiete" anerkannt, die von großem Interesse für den Schutz seltener Lebensräume, Flora und Fauna sind.
• Wenn wir es hier zulassen, wie viele andere Umgebungen werden sonst noch zerstört?
• Dies ist ein veraltetes Skigebiet, das auf einem rückläufigen touristischen Modell aus wirtschaftlichen, klimatischen und kulturellen Gründen basiert. Jedes Jahr geben wir Steuerzahler Millionen von Euros aus, um die defizitären Budgets der Skigebiete zu decken.
• Diese private Investition von 130 Millionen Euro hat öffentliche Ausgaben von fast 43 Millionen Euro.
• Für einige würde dieses Projekt einen gewissen Nutzen bringen, aber es würde uns allen irreparablen und dauerhaften Schaden zufügen.

Wir wollen unseren Kindern eine einzigartige Umgebung in den Alpen schenken: den Zauber der Alpe Devero, so wie wir sie kennen!

Aus diesem Grund bitten wir den Strategieplan "Avvicinare le Montagne" abzulehnen.

"Avvicinare le Montagne wurde zurückgezogen. Es konnte die notwendige strategische Umweltprüfung (VAS) nicht bestehen.

Aber die Bedrohung ist noch nicht gebannt. Denn Unternehmer, die öffentliche Verwaltung und Politiker haben ihre Strategie nur geändert. Sie setzen eine Reihe von Maßnahmen um, wobei sie versuchen, rechtliche Schlupflöcher in der lokalen Gesetzgebung auszunutzen, um die Entscheidung der VAS zu unterlaufen.

Die Bedrohung ist noch nicht gebannt.
