On behalf of the Association of Latin American Students of the University of Salamanca, the Latin American community and interested parties, we express the following:
In recent days, we have received the unfortunate news of the definitive suspension of the Santander scholarships for Latin American students, financial aid that has benefited more than two thousand people in its twenty-three years of existence. The disappearance of this scholarship arises, without great explanation, within the framework of the recent election of the rector within the University of Salamanca, thus breaking a link that connects the Latin American community with our historic fall of studies.
Santander scholarships have been a fundamental pillar for many Latin American students, providing them with invaluable educational and professional opportunities. Maintaining this program is crucial to continue promoting cultural and academic exchange between Spain and Latin America.
We ask that this decision be reconsidered and the program kept active for future generations. Please sign this petition to support our cause and ensure that educational opportunities remain open to all students who hope to visit the classrooms of this prestigious university.
