ACTUALIZACIÓN CIUDADANA | EL ESPINO 🌳💧

Las máquinas han entrado al bosque.

Y lo están haciendo de noche.

Lejos de los ojos del pueblo. URGE ACTIVARSE EN REDES SOCIALES!!!! 

Entre láminas metálicas, maquinaria pesada y presencia militar, uno de los últimos pulmones urbanos de San Salvador está siendo intervenido mientras cientos de miles de personas siguen esperando respuestas claras.

344,809 firmas digitales.
Más de 40,000 firmas físicas.
Miles de voces dentro y fuera de El Salvador.

Y aun así, el país sigue sin acceso público y transparente a información fundamental:

📌 ¿Dónde están los Estudios de Impacto Ambiental?
📌 ¿Cómo se protegerá la recarga hídrica?
📌 ¿Qué pasará con las especies silvestres desplazadas?
📌 ¿Cómo evitarán inundaciones y escorrentías en las comunidades más vulnerables?
📌 ¿Cuál es el verdadero alcance de las obras?

El pueblo tiene derecho a preguntar.

Porque un bosque urbano no es un terreno vacío.
Es agua.
Es regulación térmica.
Es biodiversidad.
Es salud pública.
Es resiliencia climática.

Y aquí surge una pregunta inevitable:

Si este proyecto representa orgullo, modernidad y desarrollo…
¿por qué ejecutarlo detrás de láminas?
¿por qué de noche?
¿por qué sin explicaciones claras al país?
¿sentirse orgullosos de qué?

Cuando una obra pública necesita ocultarse del escrutinio ciudadano, la preocupación deja de ser solamente ambiental.
Se vuelve democrática.

No estamos defendiendo nostalgia.
Estamos defendiendo el derecho de las futuras generaciones a heredar una ciudad habitable.

Mientras el planeta entero discute cómo proteger bosques urbanos frente al cambio climático extremo, en El Salvador la ciudadanía sigue exigiendo algo básico:

🌱 transparencia
🌱 participación
🌱 responsabilidad ambiental
🌱 respeto al agua y a la vida

A quienes hoy sienten tristeza, rabia o impotencia:
no están solos.

Cada firma ya construyó algo poderoso:
una conciencia colectiva que despertó y que seguirá documentando, denunciando y resistiendo.

Porque aunque talen árboles de noche,
no podrán desmontar la memoria ambiental de un pueblo entero.

CITIZEN UPDATE | EL ESPINO 🌳💧

The machines have entered the forest.

And they are doing it at night.

Far from the eyes of the people.

Behind metal barriers, heavy machinery, and military presence, one of San Salvador’s last urban forests is being intervened while hundreds of thousands of people continue waiting for clear answers.

344,809 digital signatures.
More than 40,000 handwritten signatures.
Thousands of voices from El Salvador and across the world.

And yet, the public still has no transparent access to essential information:

📌 Where are the Environmental Impact Assessments?
📌 How will groundwater recharge areas be protected?
📌 What will happen to displaced wildlife species?
📌 How will flooding and runoff impacts on vulnerable communities be prevented?
📌 What is the true scale of the project?

The people have the right to ask.

Because an urban forest is not empty land.
It is water.
It is temperature regulation.
It is biodiversity.
It is public health.
It is climate resilience.

And this raises an unavoidable question:

If this project represents pride, progress, and modern development…
why carry it out behind metal walls?
why at night?
why without clear explanations to the country?
proud of what, exactly?

When a public project needs to be hidden from public scrutiny, the concern stops being only environmental.
It becomes democratic.

We are not defending nostalgia.
We are defending the right of future generations to inherit a livable city.

While the world debates how to protect urban forests in the face of extreme climate change, the people of El Salvador continue demanding something basic:

🌱 transparency
🌱 public participation
🌱 environmental accountability
🌱 respect for water and life

To everyone feeling sadness, anger, or helplessness today:
you are not alone.

Every signature has already built something powerful:
a collective environmental consciousness that has awakened and will continue documenting, denouncing, and resisting.

Because even if trees are cut down at night,
they will never erase the environmental memory of an entire people.
