La casa común sigue en pie. El Espino nos mira: vigilia, arte y defensa de la vida
Eyes on El Espino: the Common Home Still Stands
La ciudadanía organizada informa que la situación en torno a las construcciones del nuevo CIFCO en terrenos vinculados al Bosque El Espino continúa siendo motivo de profunda preocupación pública y ambiental.
Durante las últimas semanas, distintos colectivos ciudadanos, ambientales y culturales han reiterado su rechazo a estas obras, señalando riesgos graves para el ecosistema, la biodiversidad, la recarga hídrica y la seguridad de las comunidades aledañas. Diversos reportes de prensa nacional han documentado manifestaciones, acciones legales y la presentación de avisos ante la Fiscalía General de la República, alertando sobre posibles delitos ambientales y la falta de garantías técnicas suficientes.
Estas acciones se inscriben en la continuidad de la campaña Ojos en El Espino, que mantiene una presencia ciudadana constante, pacífica y creativa, recordando que el desarrollo no puede construirse a costa de destruir los últimos pulmones verdes del área metropolitana.
En ese marco, se invita a toda la población —peques, menos peques y familias enteras— a sumarse a las vigilias ciudadanas y jornadas de arte frente a la Catedral, como espacios abiertos de expresión, memoria y cuidado colectivo.

Estas vigilias forman parte de una defensa viva del territorio, donde el arte, la palabra y la presencia sostienen la vida.
La ciudadanía también informa que la petición digital por la protección del Bosque El Espino ha alcanzado 30,209 firmas, y que la meta inmediata es llegar a 50,000, para reforzar la exigencia de alternativas responsables y transparentes.

Durante la presente semana, el plan ciudadano es seguir tocando puertas institucionales, comunitarias y culturales, ampliando el diálogo y la exigencia de respeto ambiental.
En esta tarea simbólica y ética, Chinchín, el Gato Zonto Churrito y todos los animalitos del Bosque El Espino nos “autorizan”: recuerdan que los humanos no somos dueños del territorio, apenas vehículos para proteger la casa común.
La casa común es el hogar compartido por todas las formas de vida —humanas y no humanas—. El término proviene de tradiciones éticas, ambientales y comunitarias que reconocen que la Tierra no es un recurso infinito, sino un hogar frágil que se cuida o se pierde.
El bosque habla.
La ciudadanía responde.

The organized citizenry reports that the situation surrounding the construction of the new CIFCO on land linked to the El Espino Forest remains a serious public and environmental concern.
In recent weeks, environmental, cultural, and community groups have reiterated their opposition to the project, citing significant risks to ecosystems, biodiversity, water recharge, and nearby communities. National media coverage has documented protests and the filing of legal notices before the Fiscalía General de la República, warning of potential environmental violations and insufficient technical safeguards.
These actions are part of the ongoing Eyes on El Espino campaign, which sustains a peaceful, creative, and constant civic presence, affirming that development cannot come at the cost of destroying one of the last green lungs of the metropolitan area.
The public is therefore invited — children, youth, adults, families — to join the daily civic vigils and art gatherings in front of the Cathedral, as open spaces for expression, memory, and collective care.
