The UTAH THEATER is a beautiful 100 year old building located in down town Salt Lake City slated to be torn down. This beautiful and ornate building should instead be preserved and restored. Demolishing it would be short-sighted  and only benefit a few while saving the theater and making it operational again  would benefit the community and the entire state. Architecturally it is one one of the most interesting and beautiful buildings in Salt Lake City and possibly the only remaining theater not currently used, which can still be preserved and protected. The decision to allow its destruction has been made by the Mayor of Salt Lake City,  however this is not a decision for the mayor to make. The citizens of Salt Lake City and Utah should be allowed to make this decision. We ask that this decision be put to a vote – let the  public decide.
