Your continued support of our movement, advocating for responsible neighborhood development, is so important but there is MORE to be done!
Over 40 of our neighbors attended the City Council meeting last week (8/27/24), many spoke of their concerns for safety, parking, density and the affect to our adjacent business by the proposed developments which give no consideration to the existing neighborhood.
At the end of the night the City Council could not move forward on Item 16 J due to a Closed Session about the developer, HCHC’s, potential purchase of the property at 1402 Wilshire (UNLEASHED), which could significantly impact the size and scope of the project.
We are keeping a close eye on this, and will keep you posted.
Now, it's crucial that we rally behind Phil Brock, Oscar De La Torre, Vivian Roknian, and John Putnam for City Council.
These candidates listen, understand and support our neighborhood and a SAFER SANTA MONICA.
Electing them in November will give us a majority of council members who will take action.
Combining these four with Vice Mayor Lana Negrete will create a strong City Council, which will be critical to the future of our neighborhood and our City.
Many people are unsure who to vote for in November, so your conversations can make a BIG difference.
Please spread the word to your friends and neighbors that Phil Brock, Oscar De La Torre, Vivian Roknian, and John Putnam are the candidates who align with our vision for the community.
Thank you for your dedication and support!
