It is now coming up to nine months since we started our petition. We would like to thank everyone for their support in signing and sharing our petition.
Unfortunately, HfW and authorities have decided to ignore the petition and every concern raised in our petition.

We expected HfW to stop their systematic abuse and neglect against their residents but instead they made the decision to continue their abuse and negligence.Victims and survivors of abuse and victims and survivors or crime continue to be failed and ignored despite cases rising. Despite the rise in cases, we are seeing more and more buildings with broken CCTV and doors which residents are charged for as part of HfW’s service charges. These are not isolated incidents and neither are they due to the pandemic. The issues surrounding security, safety and other services that HfW are meant to provide and charge each household for, have been ongoing for years. However HfW refuse to make changes and refuse to provide the refunds many residents are owed, including compensation. The failures in safeguarding is putting many residents including children at risk and causing many to end up more vulnerable.

Fire safety, security, health and safety, repairs and complaints continue to be ignored with residents concerns being dismissed repeatedly. A number of residents continue to be harassed over rent arrears, forcing those residents into further poverty, debt and mental health struggles. 
There is a mental health crisis amongst many residents caused by HfW due to HfW’s abuse against residents, residents living conditions as a result of HfW’s refusal to deal with abuse from staff and abuse from perpetrators, transfers, repairs, antisocial behaviour, safety, security, rent and service charges increase, lack of and non existent services and complaints being ignored. More women are self harming and ending up suicidal as a result of HfW’s abuse and failures. How many more residents need to die for authorities to wake up and stop the harm and abuse HfW are inflicting on residents? Why must women, men and children suffer at the hands of HfW? No lessons have been learned, at all. 

While HfW continue focusing on getting the public to fundraise for them despite the wealth HfW have, with the CEO being awarded a big pay rise and now earning over £100k, the director earning over £90k, a brand new company van and hiring more than 13 new staff members within three months, many residents continue to struggle to receive the services this charity is meant to provide. They continue to lie to cover up their failings by posting posts to distract the attention from the media and fundraisers.

HfW have reported our Twitter account for sharing the service manager’s email which is public knowledge and was shared with us by a staff member. We have appealed against the decision made by Twitter and therefore unable to use our Twitter account until the appeal has been looked at. Residents can continue to contact us via email. We will not be silenced or intimidated by HfW. Our petition is growing stronger and over the next few months, we will be organising more campaigns to have our voices heard and get justice for all victims of HfW.SHAC, the social housing action campaign has also created a group for HfW residents which you can find on Twitter, Facebook and their website.We urge residents to continue to keep a diary and only communicate with HfW via email and always copy in their MP and councillors. The customer portal is useless so it’s always better to send a direct email. Please continue to take pictures and videos as evidence and record any meetings you have. Always have a witness present if you have staff or contractors attending your home, whether it’s family, a friend or neighbour. This is paramount for your own protection. If you would like us to share your pictures and videos, please email us and we will share these with your permission should you wish. We have strict guidelines when it comes to confidentiality and will never share any of your details unlike HfW who repeatedly breach data protection and confidentiality.

If HfW continue to ignore your case and mistreat you, please make a subject access request (SAR) and request all your files from when you first became a resident of HfW. You should also make a complaint via email and copy your MP and councillors into the email.
