Official confirmation that the planning application has been withdrawn has been published on the States of Guernsey Planning Explorer website ! Very many thanks to all those who have spoken out and campaigned against those plans, to the 1370 persons who signed this petition, and to the media for their extensive coverage. We applaud the decision of the Committee for Education, Sport & Culture to withdraw the application though wish to point out that no planning application can be submitted by third parties for States-owned property without actual permission from the States themselves. The next step will be to gain protected status for both the Island War Memorial and the St Paul's Garden ! Well done everyone and very many thanks to all !
