Good evening Oak Run members,
You should all be receiving ballots in your mailbox in the coming days for the board elections. This years election is very important for those of us that feel affected by the boards conduct earlier this year and want a real chance at change here in Oak Run. I would like to take this time to introduce 2 candidates who I feel are very qualified to take on that challenge.
Sam Cain & Adam Shane.
Sam and Adam both possess the qualities I believe are needed to add a fair, honest, and ethical voice to the residents of Oak Run. Together Sam and Adam will work for the residents best interests and what benefits Oak Run as a whole and not advancing personal agendas. I give my full endorsement to both of these individuals and encourage you to strongly consider them when making your voting selections this week.
Please take a moment to read the information below, questionnaires filled out directly by the candidates.

CANDIDATE QUESTIONNAIRE
1.) I previously served on the board for 6 years, and I have been off the board for the last 2 years. I’ve taken this time to try to gain a different perspective on the needs and wants of the Oak Run community. This community means the world to me and my family, and I feel it is the right time to step back in and contribute however I can.
2.) First and foremost, my previous board experience! In addition, I live full time in Oak Run, conduct my business in Oak Run, raise my family in Oak Run and socialize in Oak Run. I feel like I am in an advantageous position to understand the needs of the community and make decisions that are in the best interest of the community as whole. Anyone who knows me, knows that I fight for what’s right rather than what’s popular or self-serving. I believe in accountability at all levels of our community, and I am not afraid to say what needs to be said or do what needs to be done.
3.) Short-term goals = Ensuring board decisions keep the community’s best interest in mind first and foremost.
Long-range plans = Putting the lake first and upholding and improving our current amenities. I want to ensure that present and future members enjoy Oak Run for years to come.
4.) Transparency. While any decision won’t please everyone, it is still important to communicate to the best of our ability to the community WHAT is being done and WHY it is being done.
5.) Owned property since 1998. I have been a full-time resident since 2002. I am a former member of the Fish and Sports Committee. I enjoy boating, fishing, and hunting here. In addition, my wife is former president and current member of the Spoon Lake Activity Team.
