Hello Fine Campaigners

The next meeting of Wandsworth Council's Planning Applications Committee (PAC) will be held on 24th April. Please put it in your digital device diary, or on a Post-it note for your fridge, or nose. I/We need you to attend.

I do not know what time it will start (the last one was at 7.30pm) and do not know for certain yet if the One Battersea Bridge planning application will be heard. But it was held over from the last meeting, so it should be at the top of the agenda.

FYI - at the last meeting, the planning committee gave permission to the controversial Wandsworth Gas Works development - a colossus of 620 new homes and four tower blocks, with one rising to 29 storeys.

Further details about the next planning meeting will be posted here ASAP. Also, do check for fuller stories about the planning application at The Chelsea Citizen online newspaper.

Rockwell Property has continued to swamp the planning portal with "letters of support". It confirmed to me that it is behind the sudden surge of "support" for their own project since 6th March. As of today (6th April), there are now 1,389 "letters of support". (Objectors: 1,679)

Some observers have described these new letters as "fake" and a brazen abuse of the system, although I could not possibly comment.

If a property company cannot be trusted to engage in the democratic planning application process with basic respect and integrity, how can it be trusted to manage five-plus years constructing an enormous development - a project derided across the board by multiple official agencies, environmental organisations, borough societies, local political leaders, and thousands of residents - right next to a Grade II listed London bridge?

I have been investigating the "letters of support" practice and the results of this work will be published soon.

Going forward, there is still time to give your opinion. Comments must be accepted by the planning committee right up until the day of its consideration meeting.

Simply visit HERE and click 'Make a comment' and start writing. Case number FS-Case-663310381. You don't have to write much.

This petition now has 4,815 signatories and I am currently working out how to add the names of ALL the people on my petition to the planning portal.

See you on the 24th (details tbc!).

Thank You for all the support. Stay with it.

Rob Mc.
