Build a Better Rye is seeking your support for the City of Rye’s proposed legislation to limit rock excavation to 30 calendar days.

The recommendation to support the 30 calendar day limit is based on information gathered from rock excavation companies, manufacturers of rock chipping equipment, developers and engineers. These specialists confirmed 30 calendar days is enough time for rock removal associated with home building (including basements) in all zones of Rye. 

Please sign below to show your support for the proposed legislation. The City Council has already passed a six month moratorium limiting rock excavation to 30 calendar days. With your support, we hope the City Council will make the current limitations a permanent ordinance.
