We've previously highlighted that Rutland County Council overlooked or ignored numerous issues raised by members of Oakham Town Council, who voted to reject an application to use council land by The Cottesmore Hunt, at their meeting in November. The councillors cited concerns over wildlife crime (an employee of The Cottesmore Hunt was prosecuted in September for blocking a badger sett) and animal cruelty, as well as public perceiving the Councils to favour the hunts amongst other concerns.
