Rural communities deserve better - Say no to Biogas Plant on Killough Hill (pNHA)

Rural communities deserve better - Say no to Biogas Plant on Killough Hill (pNHA)
The Issue
Why sign this petition?
A large biomethane and bio-LNG plant is proposed for Killough Hill, Co. Tipperary, in a rural area with narrow roads, no footpaths, vulnerable water sources, and homes nearby.
This is not just a local issue. Why people across Ireland are signing:
🚛 Heavy HGV and LNG tanker traffic on rural roads never designed for it
💧 A major underground karst aquifer lies beneath the site — water here is especially vulnerable
🌊 The development sits within the River Suir catchment, a protected river system
🌿 Natural woodland and protected species are nearby
🧒 A primary school is just 1.5 km away
These are issues that matter everywhere, not just in Killough.
This is not anti-renewable energy
Ireland needs renewable energy — but it must be in the right place.
Communities should not be asked to carry disproportionate risk because of poor siting decisions.
The proposal has already been covered by national and local media.
Decision-makers are watching public response.
👉 If you believe safety, clean water, and fair planning matter — please sign.
You don’t have to live in Killough to care.
