The consultation was based on old Alpha data using an inappropriate out of date household study and applying it to a work situation with a Delta variant. Sick people stay in their household - they don't treat patients. The transmission of Delta was always identical from someone walking around at work if they are infected irrespective of their vaccination status. This was confirmed on 28th October 2021, six days after the consultation closed, by an Imperial College study including Prof Neil Fergusson in association with the UKHSA https://www.thelancet.com/pdfs/journals/laninf/PIIS1473-3099(21)00648-4.pdf . This was not used for the weekly covid surveillance reports not for the ministerial debate nor at the High Court case for the care home workers, the Government instead continuing to present old Alpha data and modelling information.
At least it looks like the law will be scrapped.
Anyone taking responsibility for misleading the public, ministers, and the courts?
Thanks again for your support.
