Good evening everyone I hope this finds you somewhere sunny! I wouldn’t usually share this but figured many of you may have been affected by genetic heart disease, or know of people who have. As part of my 25 years post transplant I’m involved in a production called “The Beat Goes On” that has been started by an actress called Rebecca Shorrocks who was leading normal life working, enjoying high intensity fitness and seeing her friends when she collapsed one day. She was diagnosed with ARV cardiomyopathy- which basically means when she worked her heart hard instead of getting stronger it was getting weaker. Most people are sadly diagnosed post mortem - thankfully Rebecca survived and is now trying to raise awareness as an actress by putting on a play. However she’s currently funding it herself. The start up costs are £5000, then the aim is to get arts council funding to tour. Where are works part time have pledged to double the total when she hits £2500 which means we’d have reached the start up cost target of £5000! Please take a look, if you can afford to donate great, if you can’t don’t. But please share as even if you can’t someone else might be able to! Oh and we’ve got 11 days to raise enough money https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/thebeatgoeson Kindest regards Lucy x
