25th Heart Transplant Anniversary ❤️

Hello � I can’t quite believe I’m 25 years post transplant today! (I’ve had to update the petition!) All the doctors knew back in 1993 when childrens heart transplants were in their infancy was that I might get an extra 5 years. And 25 years later I’m still going strong. It goes without saying I wouldn’t have made it much past the age of 3 years-old without my incredible donor and their family. I cannot imagine what they went through and know today will hold some bittersweet memories. I’m eternally grateful to my family who made the decision that a 2 year-old couldn’t, and the amazing, talented, competent Doctors and Nurses who kept me alive. Words cannot aptly express my gratitude. As you might’ve guessed I’m even more delighted we got the government to agree to this system during my 25th transplant year - YAY � I’m sure most of you are, but if you aren’t please do sign up to the current Opt In system until the Soft Opt Out is introduced.
