RSVP YES to Join the Sister_Scene & Share Invites Where You Live
The Issue
SisterScene Creative Justice · Triangle, NC
We're holding a place for you.
Sign this petition to say yes to creating cross-cultural community solidarity. Jelp us spread SisterScene radical hospitality for multicultural social change in your community!
Since 2016, the rising anti-woman, anti-Black, and anti-DEI attacks have made our isolation and division worse than ever.America is supposed to be a multicultural democracy — where we see each other as equals. But classism, racism, cultural biases and unjust systems divide us.
By default or habit, social cliques and bubbles operate to keep women apart.
SisterScene was born in the Year 2000 when Marie and Brianna were born (see photo). Their friendship blossomed in elementary school and their mothers--Meleata and Emily--caught their sisterly love bug. When the pandemic hit, Marie and Brianna were 21-year-olds, social distancing at UNC-Chaptel Hill. That's when we decided to make SisterScene an official invitation exchange org for social change. We have been weaving beautiful, joyful, connections ever since. Busting cliques and bully attitudes, one invitation at a time!
Women on the Sister Scene have agreed to try on on a new attitude. We choose radical hospitality. We can be critical thinkers together instead of criticizing each other.
WHY THIS PETITION MATTERS
When you sign, you are saying out loud that women's cross-cultural friendship is not a luxury — it is how democracy gets built. You are pledging to bust the bubble, extend the invitation, and show up for women who are not already in your circle.
You are also sending a signal to community leaders, elected officials, arts institutions, universities, and businesses: this work deserves support, partnership, and investment. SisterScene has proven the model works. Now we need the resources to grow it.
We will be a multicultural democracy when women — white, Black, AAPI, queer and straight — support each other and show up together to celebrate women in the arts, athletics. in multicultural festivals, educational and business venues, even in their homes.
