Definition of Rape under Section 375(1) of the IPC is not gender neutral

Section 375(1) of the Indian Penal Code defines rape as an act of a man penetrating a woman's vagina with his penis without her consent. Why only a man? Can a woman not rape? How can we define rape on the basis of gender. The definition itself is gender biased.
