'We mourn the tragic loss of a beautiful young girl from our community'
She was only 17. He is 34. 
She is the youngest victim of intimate partner violence in Australia this year.
He allegedly murdered her on Tuesday at Galiwin'ku, Northern Territory.
The teenager is the 16th Australian child killed in 2026. A total of 27 children were killed in 2025.
"There are no words that can ease the pain of losing someone so young," the Galiwin'ku Women's Space Aboriginal Corporation said in a post on social media. 
"We honour her life, remember her with love and stand alongside her family and our community with compassion, strength and respect."
