Her name is Lavanya Chappa. The 39-year-old was stabbed to death at her home in Vermont, Victoria, on July 7. Her husband Srinivas Achanta is charged with Lavanya's murder.
Lavanya is the 36th Australian woman killed this year. Last year we lost 79 women to violence - the year before 106 women were killed.
Lavanya is a mum to two children.
Her death should be the reason we get a Royal Commission into the Killing of Women and Girls. Please sign the petition (f you haven't already) and share it with your circle. The more voices we get the better chance we have of success!
