On March 1, a 36-year-old woman died in a car crash at Colinton, NSW. A 39-year-old man was driving the vehicle that hit her car. He fled the scene and was found some 10 hours later in a paddock.
Today he was charged with murder, dangerous driving occasioning death, failing to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing death, and two counts each of predatory driving and reckless, furious or dangerous driving.
She is the 16th Australian woman killed in 2026. Last year we lost 79 women to violence - the year before 106 women were killed.
