It's been less than 36 hours since the petition for a Royal Commission into the Killing of Women and Girls went live and already the femicide toll has increased.
Today, police found a critically ill woman in her home at Wollert, Victoria. A male known to her has been arrested. Homicide is investigating and there's a call for witnesses to come forward.
Her death, means we have lost five women to alleged violence in a matter of weeks. On top of last year's femicide toll of 77 and 2024's toll of 105 deaths, it is clear women's deaths are increasing.
For this petition to work, I need your support. I need you to share it with your circle, encourage others to sign and please talk, talk, talk about the need to examine all the aspects under-pinning the killing of women and girls in Australia.
❤️ABOUT MY WORK❤️
I document all Australian women & children lost to murder, manslaughter, neglect and other unlawful acts regardless of perpetrator gender or relationship to the victim. This means not all women and children killed are lost to domestic violence. They are also killed by people known to them (ie friends) or by strangers. My work includes Australians killed overseas. Every death is documented at AustralianFemicideWatch.org/database
