The children also included many comments about why a local community farm like the one the Council has closed is so important to them. 

If you are Newham residents or work with or care for Newham children or people with SEND, please consider getting them to start a children’s petition before 10th December as we have someone who can present this to the December Full Council Meeting! Send their petition to us on savenewhamcityfarm@gmail.com and we’ll get it presented! You and your children would be able to watch this on YouTube as the meetings are recorded on Zoom. 

Also, it’s really important for us to hear and pass on stories from Newham residents and community groups who have been particularly negatively impacted by the closure. Please contact us on the above email address. 

We can advise and support you to put questions to Council. 

Please also contact us if you have contacted the Mayor or Councillors or Newham MPs about the closure of the farm. We’d be interested to know how many people have contacted them and whether they received a response because we suspect that many emails like some of ours to them have been ignored. 

You can also still write to them and tell them that you won’t vote for them in the May 2022 local elections if they don’t reopen the farm!
