Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak is not a unknown person in India and abroad because of his devotion for eradication of scavenging prevailed in Indian Societ. His service for eradication for scavenging in India is globally recognized and he is awarded for it too. He is granted biggest Civil Award of Indian government 'PADMA BHUSHAN' in 1991. He received praise and applause all over world for his social services. He belongs to a Brahmin class family, yet he did not hesitate for launching a campaign of eradication of scavenging.
