The Rocky Dog Run is located inside Ft. Washington Park in New York City. This dog run is scheduled to undergo substantial renovations starting soon.  We the dog owners and users of this wonderful community resource would like to provide some input on the decisions being made about such renovations. 

In consultation with the community of dog owners who use this park on a daily basis, we have conducted a site assessment and have determined that there are certain characteristics of this dog run that we need to preserve.  Specifically, we need to participate in the decision-making process to provide our users views on the design being proposed because we do not want to chop-up the run into smaller pieces for small and big dogs.  Instead, we want to preserve the long run for our dogs to exercise appropriately and relocate the small-dog run to the northern section of the dog run abutting garden #2 as illustrated on the map above.  This new design will provide an elongated section to provide running space for the small dogs too. 

We would also like to be informed of the materials that are being considered to be used to renovate our dog run, as well as the design being proposed.

We will be working with the Parks Department to share our views in more detail on how to preserve the natural long run of the Rocky Dog Run.

Therefore, we hereby urge the respective decision-makers to disseminate information publicly and to host a public meeting to inform us of the latest developments of this community resource.
