This has been an ongoing issue for some time now within the online community of Red Dead Redemption. 

The Horse Race Series NEEDS An Update.

Many people of the RDR community have found out how to exploit these game modes into getting the MOST rewards from completion, People are leaving the horse race lobbies open for 15minutes letting only the people who place 1st 2nd and 3rd to finish the race. The remaining players are then unable to finish the race without being harassed by the majority that are trying to exploit the game-mode for extended XP and CASH.

They sit there killing each other back and forth for 10+ minutes for XP. People are so divided because the majority all wait the lobby out past 15mins and the newer players get bullied right out of the lobby for finishing the race “too early” in the way the game has it intended.

I highly suggest the races be cut down to 7minutes, or less. This way they end whether or not people have finished the race or not and those that actually do race should get a bigger ending completion reward than those that are just standing there not racing at all. IT IS VERY important that the race is also made so that players CANNOT gain XP from killing other players whilst racing in this game mode. The only XP and CASH to be gained should be for those that ACTUALLY race, and play the game fairly the way it was intended to be played.

Might I add that this exploit is one of the worst this game has right now, completely defeating the purpose of doing anything else other then this just to accumulate massive amounts of experience towards levelling and in-game cash to max out on all items, Waiting out these races will give every player even those that DO NOT FINISH over 400XP and 20-30CASH on ending completion, that’s NOT including those that manage to place 1st 2nd or 3rd .. Whichever player is lucky enough to finish with 1st will receive 90CASH and 1kXP on ending completion per EVERY race of 15minutes. Those that don’t finish will sit there killing each other back and forth repeatedly for the remaining time as it gives 50XP per kill or they’ll just target and kill the players that are completely away from their consoles and have just left them online throughout the entire day and night doing this exploit.. I am level 300+ with over 50K in Red Dead Redemption 2’s Online ALL accumulated from this exploit, by far giving players NO REASON to do anything else but this as it just gives so much.. ANYTHING else becomes a complete waste of your time.. it’s DESTROYED the games economy I have EVERYTHING purchased and with ease, every clothing item in every colour pallet option.. this COULD NOT.. AND WOULD NOT.. of been done if I was doing stranger missions and playing the game “CORRECTLY”.
