Roblox: Protect Our Kids. Demand Safety Reform Now.
The Issue
Every day, millions of kids log into Roblox to play, create, and connect with friends. But for too many families, this game has become a danger zone. Reports from creators, parents, and even lawmakers have revealed horrifying cases of grooming and predatory behavior targeting children on the platform.
Recently, the company’s leadership came under fire after sending a cease-and-desist letter to a YouTuber, “Schlep,” who claims to have helped law enforcement make arrests of suspected predators on Roblox. Instead of working with those raising alarms, Roblox has doubled down on legal threats—while parents are left wondering if their kids are truly safe.
Even as Roblox insists its moderation tools are strong, predators still slip through the cracks. When whistleblowers and advocates try to fill those gaps, they’re met with punishment instead of partnership. That’s not the behavior of a company prioritizing the well-being of children—it’s the behavior of a company protecting its image.
Child safety cannot be treated as a PR issue. We are calling on Roblox to:
- Immediately strengthen detection and reporting systems for grooming and predatory behavior.
- Work transparently with independent child safety advocates and experts.
- Provide parents with clearer tools and information to safeguard their children’s accounts.
This is not about politics. Members of both major parties have spoken out because the safety of children is something we all agree on. Parents, lawmakers, and communities across the country are uniting to say: enough is enough.
Roblox has the resources to lead the industry in child safety—but right now, it’s failing. We demand urgent action to fix these dangerous gaps and to stop punishing those trying to protect kids.
Children’s safety online must come before corporate pride. Roblox, the time to act is now.
