Hi,
Australia needs a place where tech companies can thrive. We need to create more opportunities for them. The potential redevelopment of ATP speaks to a bigger issue. We need to invest in innovation and technology in Australia. Redeveloping the area into the back office of a Big 4 bank or an apartment block does not help our long term future.
By way of introduction, my name is Matthew Ho and I'm the person behind the Save ATP petition. I'm writing to you from San Francisco. I've noticed in the past few months here that there is an incredible density of technology companies. It allows these companies to collaborate and it creates serendipitous opportunities. That's why we need Australian Technology Park.
Here is an update on the latest developments since you signed:
1. We have 1,021 signatures and 330 comments since we opened the petition on Sunday (AEST). This petition has been viewed 1,000 times per day for the past two days.
2. People have signed the petition from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Gold Coast, San Francisco, Washington DC, Bangkok, KL, UK, Slovenia and more.
3. Ed Husic MP (Member of Parliament) has brought up the matter in Parliament. He mentioned the latest press attention and the movement behind the petition. Watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEMXyN-DEsw&feature=youtu.be
4. BRW has informed me that they have published some new articles which mention the petition. I've updated the "Reference articles" section for the new articles. If you have any articles or blog posts you would like me to include in this section, please let me know.
5. People have been using the hashtag #SaveATP on twitter. Let’s continue to ride that wave and use the #SaveATP hashtag.
Cheers,
Matt Ho
