A recently discovered subvariant of omicron, known as BA.2, has cast yet another shadow of uncertainty on the trajectory of the pandemic. BA.2 has been confirmed in California, including the Sacramento area.
BA.2 is 1.5 times more transmissible than the original omicron strain, known as BA.1. It could be a setback that either produces another spike in cases or slows the current pace of recovery.
We urge you to stay home from school on February 7th, 2022. We cannot condone students losing their lives or being the cause of losing their precious family members due to the negligence of Sac. State’s administration.
