On December 18, 2020 an email was sent out to most of the graduating students of Robert Morris University for the Fall semester. In this email it was explained how all degrees from this point forward will no longer come printed with the specific degree program on the diploma. What this means is rather than getting a "Bachelor of Science in Computer Science" you will now just get a "Bachelor of Science." While this may not necessarily seem like a big deal to some, this is a very big change that the university claims almost every school does. After reaching out to several registrars and deans at other universities, I have learned that this is not the case at all. As a recent graduate of Robert Morris University, I am very disappointed to look at my degree and it not state my major, minor, etc. anywhere on the degree after all of my hard work. To me, this makes all of my hard work feel like it accounts for nothing. What I am asking is for you, the reader, to please sign this petition to request that Robert Morris University revoke the changes they made with our degrees and to replace all of the degrees for those who were wronged from the Fall 2020 graduation. Your signature will help ensure this change is revoked and that this does not impact future graduates like it would if nothing is done.
