For a long time I feared for the future of my three children. Many of you will have similar fears. We worked intensively in a small group until we finally found a

fair,
realistic and, above all,
globally negotiable way
to stop the release of CO2.

We have to take an entire planet with us on the journey, otherwise it won't work. Here's the plan that works for both the 1.5 degree and 2.0 degree goals - let me know which goal you want to take!

On January 21, 2022, every citizen of the world was allowed to release an additional 132 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere so that the earth would not warm up to more than 2°C compared to pre-industrial times. This would achieve the central goal of the Paris climate agreement.

This is exactly what we ensure in this way: 

We demand a CO2 wallet for every inhabitant of the world, into which a credit for the consumption of a maximum of 132 tons of CO2 per person is filled.

The gift: Every person in the world gets this CO2 wallet, once, free of charge and without consideration. Incidentally, we call the wallet the "CO2 wallet" so that this term can be understood internationally.

Two prices for each product: Each product just doesn’t have a monetary price, but it has a CO2 price too.

Only those who pay the CO2 price of the product will be sold products that release CO2. If the CO2 wallet is empty, the customer accesses only CO2-neutral products. 

Products for which no CO2 is released can, of course, continue to be purchased for the pure cash price.

We know very well that a business will only deliver products that it can sell. So the economy also transforms with falling demand and after a short time only offers CO2-neutral products. 

At the latest by the 2 degree target we will have transformed worldwide and no longer release CO2.

It couldn't be fairer: Each one of us has exactly the same right to continue to pollute our atmosphere and the duty to do so only within clearly defined limits.

In detail: 

Every citizen in the world gets a CO2 residual budget, calculated on the 2.0 degree target of the Paris Agreement. We save this remaining budget in the CO2 wallet of every citizen. The wallet is fair because it starts with the same starting balance for every citizen.
With every purchase, the citizen also gives up a share of the wallet. Sellers will be required to collect and void it in addition to the purchase price. 
With the purchase, the surrendered share of the wallet is forfeited - it cannot be used again. If the wallet is empty, the citizen can no longer buy carbon-emitting products, unless 
the citizen buys a share from another citizen's wallet in a trade. The prices for the CO2 budgets will rise, those who behave in an environmentally friendly way will be rewarded.
The wallets are managed on the cell phone, an app takes care of that. Citizens who do not have a mobile phone receive a special chip card or T(transformation) coins. 
Together with you, we will examine whether we are heading for the 1.5 degree target or the 2.0 degree target of the Paris Agreement - both are possible. Interestingly, the period in which this transformation takes place is no longer important, as the concept ensures that the emission limits of the target are met. 
We demand the introduction of the CO2 wallet for every citizen. With falling CO2 remaining budgets, the economy will change its products - with all its creativity, because the circle of customers for sustainable products is automatically and foreseeably growing.
