Dear friends,
Thank you once again for signing our petition and demanding sanctuary for Betty the elephant.
Betty and her companion, Bo, are presently off the road for the holiday season. This past year, they were the traveling elephant act with Garden Bros Circus. Garden Bros has begun announcing their tour dates for 2020, and we will be watching closely to see whether Betty is once again forced out on the road by her exhibitors, the Carden family. Unfortunately, while Betty is on the Carden property, we have no access to her or knowledge of her current condition. CompassionWorks International will continue monitoring her situation, as well as the actions of all circuses using animals, so that we can continue with our protests, advocacy, evidence-gathering, and filing complaints with the USDA as needed.
Garden Bros first dates of the 2020 season will take place toward the end of January in Georgia. If you are in or near to Georgia and are ready to get active, please contact us at info@cwint.org.
This holiday season, donations to CompassionWorks International are being matched dollar-for-dollar so that we can continue our work for Betty and against all animal cruelty. Please support our work today! We are over half-way through our goal to raise $15,000 by year end. Every dollar matters!
Thank you once again for your caring. On behalf of all of us at CWI, I wish you a happy and healthy 2020.
For the animals,
Carrie LeBlanc, M.A.
