CompassionWorks International
May 15, 2019

Dear friends,

Thank you for signing CompassionWorks International's petition demanding sanctuary for the elephant Betty, who is currently being forced to perform in Garden Bros Circus. We presently have more than 186,000 signatures!

Unlike other petitions, this petition is a part of a plan of action for Betty, so we wanted to write to let you know what is happening and how you can help.

1. We are continuing to raise awareness about Betty through our social media and to grow this petition of those concerned about her welfare. If you are on Facebook, please consider liking, commenting on, and/or sharing our latest post. All of these actions help further awareness.

2. Please share this petition once again on your wall, and ask family and friends to sign.

3. Please join a protest. Upcoming Garden Bros protests are taking place in Indianapolis, IN; Kennewick, WA; Boise, ID; Battle Creek, MI; and Wheaton, IL. You can find more details about those protests and others at our dedicated site: circusprotest.com.

4. We were dismayed to find that the University of Massachusetts Lowell allowed Garden Bros Circus to perform. We have submitted a letter to the UMass Lowell chancellor asking her to ban future performances of any entertainment act using exotic animals. We will be sending a follow up letter next week. If you are a UMass alumni, please email us at info@cwint.org to add your name.

5. Keep an eye on the Garden Bros Circus schedule. If they head your way, contact us at info@cwint.org so we can help you take action.

6. On Instagram? Be sure to use the hashtag #gardenbroscircus when posting photos of circus cruelty.

7. Make sure to receive the CWI monthly e-newsletter by visiting cwint.org and signing up on our homepage

8. Lastly, please support our work for animals by making a donation of any size. As a smaller organization, your donations are critical to our ability to continue our efforts: cwint.org/donate

Thank you once again for your caring. Together we can build a free and fair world for all beings!

For the animals,
Carrie LeBlanc, M.A.
Executive Director
