One would think it is common knowledge by 2015 that virtually all puppies sold in pet stores are the product of puppy mills.

It is stunning, disheartening, and appalling that Time Warner Cable (TWC) is airing a commercial in which a mother asks where the nearest pet store is to purchase a puppy for her little girl.  An advertisement such as this is so incredibly irresponsible and ignorant that it makes one wonder who is handling such a large and culturally pervasive company's advertising department!! 

I ask all responsible pet owners, animal rights groups, animal shelters, animal rescue groups, veterinarians, dog trainers, and K-9 handlers to sign this petition imploring Time Warner Cable and Mr. Marcus to IMMEDIATELY STOP AIRING THIS AD!!  (They may also want to re-examine their personnel choices in their advertising department).

Such a huge company with the eyes and ears of the country like TWC could make an incredibly strong, loud statement that speaks to the tragedy of shelter dogs and cats in this country as well as the plight of animals in deplorable puppy mill situations.  Instead they promote shopping at pet stores.  It is simply mind-blowing...
