Hello everyone!
I cannot thank you enough for your support of this petition. I have just had my chat with a community police officer and the advice that we have is as follows:
- Record your police incident numbers: When you contact the police about the parking situation, please ask for your police incident number which will start will PS and the date backward. This builds up over time and the more calls about a certain area/incident, it will be flagged up to the police in the team meetings on a weekly basis.
If you could also pass these to me then we can collate all the incident numbers amongst the other growing evidence. - Keep phoning the police: Goes without saying if you experience any sort of harassment, obstruction, or concern for safety then record any evidence if it is safe to do so and phone the police. The more calls, the better. Even if the police do not attend when called, the fact that it has been recorded as an incident builds a case. Do not be put off by the tone of whom you may speak to on 101 - be persistent.
Unfortunately, in a similar case, it took a whole windfarm committee, the police, and meetings with the council to even get temporary restrictions put in place on the Moor Road at the Whitelee Windfarm. Even at that, the time scale took around three to four months. So, we need to building up a very strong case to get this passed on to the council to the point where they will actually put any sort of measures to make the road safe again.
As always, please continue to share this petition and share any experiences that you've had. Any photo/video evidence is also much appreciated.
