Ref: Cross Party Backbench Business application on the SEISS
As you know, we have been campaigning for parity with Sole Traders, who can claim SEISS in two waves where affected by Covid-19, and can also carry on working. As the owner of a micro Limited Company, I can only claim furlough on my small salary - which prevents me from working and protecting my business. There is no other income support that I am eligible for, because my main pay is in dividends from my own company. Debt is not an option while I do not know how I can repay it in the current circumstances.
There is currently a cross party Backbench Business application on the SEISS due to be considered by the backbench committee. With your help we can increase the chances of this debate taking place and the voices of the 346,000 people who have signed our petition being heard.
Please will you reply and let me know whether you back this application. It is being made by Caroline Lucas MP and she will be sending the names of all those MPs prepared to stand up for their incorporated self employed constituents to the Backbench Business Committee (eg 10 am on 16th June).
