Dear Supporters
Today the Home Office has started the recruitment process for the new Domestic Abuse Commissioner. The deadline for applications is 7 January 2019 so hopefully there is a chance that they will be in post in Spring 2019.
The recent Home Affairs Committee Report on Domestic Abuse recommended that……’The new Commissioner should have, as a priority in the first year of office, to review the impact upon children of the interaction between the family courts, children’s services, CAFCASS and the police, with particular reference to contact arrangements in domestic violence cases.’
This petition was received by the Home Affairs Committee on Domestic Abuse as ‘informal background information’ and overall there were over 3000 responses to the consultation.
We hope with all our hearts that the right person is found to fulfill this role and will help bring about much needed reform.
Much love,
Rachel & Teresa xx
