We support the Anti-Asian Hate Crime Act (aka COVID-19 Hate Crime Bill). We are concerned by GA Representative Rick Allen's vote against this bill. Even though the bill passed, we want Rep. Allen to hear from his constituents so that he will vote for protective actions in the future for Asian Americans and all marginalized communities.

Since the start of the pandemic, hate crimes against Asians have rapidly increased by 164%. As an Asian, I have increased anxiety to go out in public especially when I hear about the most recent attack on the news. This causes daily stress for many in our community. We have the right to protection under the law.

The COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act makes the reporting of hate crimes more accessible and ensures reporting resources are available online in multiple languages. We urge Rep. Allen to take more responsible action in the future by voting to protect ALL of his constituents.

All citizens have a right to be protected and live safe in this community!
