Richmond needs Intergenerational Recreational Facilities now.

Richmond needs Intergenerational Recreational Facilities now.
The issue
Richmond is an area of vital economic importance to the Clarence City Council municipality, yet the needs of the local community are not being adequately met. We are lacking in public spaces that encourage inclusive community interaction, promote social development, and enhance the well-being of Richmond’s residents. We believe it is past time the council addressed this need.
The popular local skate park that existed for more than twenty years was removed without any alternative offered, leaving Richmond’s youth with no public space to facilitate social and physical development.
And while Richmond’s teens now go underserved, many other demographics similarly lack resources. Our many young families require an inclusive up-to-date playground; our large number of responsible dog owners seek a fenced dog park; and our community of devoted walkers and joggers require a safe walking track, as there is currently no linked continuity of footpaths around Richmond.
Richmond residents consider the need for these spaces vital and urgent, as the creation of such infrastructure is well overdue, and their lack significantly hurts the social cohesion and wellbeing of the local community.
Please sign this petition to urge the Clarence City Council to identify an appropriate site, plan infrastructure, secure funding and build inclusive multi-purpose Recreational Facilities in Richmond.
