Revoke Wally Daudrich’s Candidacy in Manitoba PC Party Leadership Race — Stand for Unity

The Issue

Manitoba PC leadership candidate asked to apologize for sharing post stating Muslim rival must be stopped

We, the people of Manitoba, are deeply troubled and disappointed by recent events in the Progressive Conservative leadership race. Wally Daudrich, a leadership candidate, reshared a social media post from a supporter containing offensive and discriminatory remarks targeting Obby Khan’s Muslim faith and cultural background. By resharing this post, Mr. Daudrich knowingly amplified a divisive and harmful message, which goes against the values of respect, inclusivity, and integrity that Manitobans expect from their leaders.

Instead of taking responsibility, Mr. Daudrich has attempted to shift blame onto his campaign manager, volunteers, or staff, raising serious concerns about the people he surrounds himself with and the standards of leadership he represents. True leaders take accountability, not deflect responsibility.

This is not a partisan issue—it’s about standing up for fairness, accountability, and respect for all Manitobans, no matter where you stand on the political spectrum.

We demand the following immediate actions:

  1. The Leadership Election Committee (LEC) must revoke Wally Daudrich’s candidacy in the Manitoba PC Party Leadership Race.
By resharing such inappropriate remarks and failing to take accountability, Mr. Daudrich has shown that he is unfit to represent the Progressive Conservative Party or Manitobans. Allowing his candidacy to continue undermines the Party’s commitment to fairness, unity, and respect.
  2. Wally Daudrich must publicly apologize to Obby Khan.
Obby Khan, a respected MLA serving the community of Fort Whyte and a proud representative of Manitoba’s diverse communities, deserves a sincere public apology for the harm caused by this incident and the disrespect shown to his Muslim faith and cultural identity.
  3. Wally Daudrich must apologize to the Muslim community.
The remarks amplified by Mr. Daudrich perpetuate harmful stereotypes and deeply affect the Muslim community, fostering feelings of exclusion and mistrust. A heartfelt apology is necessary to begin repairing the damage caused.

This incident is a stark reminder of the importance of holding leaders and leadership candidates to the highest standards of integrity and accountability. Manitobans deserve leaders who inspire unity, not division—leaders who celebrate diversity, not exploit it.

By signing this petition, we stand together to demand justice, accountability, and a reaffirmation of the values that make our province strong. Hate and discrimination have no place in Manitoba politics.
