Asma Al Assad's silence and complicity in the face of the atrocities committed by her husband, Bashar Al Assad, are more distressing than the actions of impressionable young individuals who have been manipulated, such as Shamima Begum. Asma Al Assad, does not only stand by, but also shares a life with a man renowned for his ruthlessness. She is a fully grown adult who decisively tied her life to Bashar and who had numerous opportunities to dissent his horrid actions. However, she didn't. 
For this, she should not hold the privileges of a UK citizenship or have access to the resources of the UK. There is no place among us for those who tolerate and seemingly endorse cruelty and utter disregard for human rights. It is these values we purport to treasure above all else, and we cannot allow these to be stained by complicity. It is time we demand actions that correspond with the integrity of our values.
As evidence of her complicity, Asma Al Assad has widely been reported actively propagandizing for the Assad regime, a regime responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Syrians, and by the UN's estimate, the displacement of over 5.6 million people since 2011(BBC, 2019, Reuters, 2017).
Thus, we ask that her UK passport be revoked. We call upon our government to demonstrate its respect for human dignity and commitment to justice. Let's ensure that those complicit in atrocities pay for their actions. I urge you to sign this petition to revoke Asma Al Assad's UK passport.
