I am personally affected by the Post Office scandal that saw sub postmasters wrongly accused and prosecuted for false accounting and theft. The person at the helm of this injustice was Paula Anne Vennells, who refused to acknowledge potential issues with the Horizon software system. As a result of her actions, many innocent people faced hardship, loss of their businesses, damage to their reputations, and some were even driven to suicide or self-harm.

This is not about me; it's about hundreds of sub postmasters who suffered due to this scandal. Between 2000 and 2014, over 736 cases were brought against sub postmasters based on faulty data from the Horizon system (source: House of Commons Library). These individuals deserve justice.

Paula Anne Vennells was awarded a CBE in 2019 for her services to the Post Office - but what service did she provide? She oversaw one of the biggest miscarriages of justice in UK history. It's time we hold her accountable.
