We, the members of this beloved community, are deeply concerned about the recent appointment of a member known as "Bad" to the role of a moderator. This development did not only raise eyebrows due to her lack of moderation skills, but also the opaque manner in which she was elevated to this critical role. We believe that our community is meant to be a welcoming space for all, and this can only be achieved with the presence of fair and responsible moderators.

Notably, since "Bad" assumed the role of moderator, there has been an alarming upsurge in community members' complaints, making it clear that her moderation style is not compatible with our community standards. This is an issue we cannot overlook, as the positive experience and comfort of our members are of paramount importance.

Additionally, it is important to emphasize that good community moderation necessitates transparency and adherence to proven standards - both of which have been questioned with "Bad's" appointment. As per the MIT Center for Civic Media, transparency and due process form the backbone of ethical moderation practices. Unfortunately, these principles seem to have been bypassed in this instance.

We take a firm stand for genuine, accountable moderation that listens and responds to the community it serves. We therefore urge the relevant decision-makers to reconsider the appointment of "Bad" and seek a candidate who possesses the needed skills, demonstrates integrity, and earns the community's trust.
