Revive Battleborn, the world was not ready then but gamers are ready now

The Issue

Battleborn, a game released in 2016 to lukewarm reception as competition to Overwatch, and was completely overshadowed by its Esport focused opponent. As a solid blend between PvE and PvP as well as a more story focused experience, Battleborn had many unique gameplay systems not seen before or since. The game's fans were loyal enough that a dedicated modder has been rebuilding the single player experience with constant support to this day.

Battleborn: Reborn mod is a clear example of a demand in the industry for Battleborn to be reforged and re released by Take Two Interactive and 2K games. If the source code still exists and with a slight bit of modification by a small group of developers, Battleborn could be re released with minimal maintenance costs with a Peer to Peer focus. If the leadership would look to service practices of games like Deep Rock Galactic and Helldivers 2, live service systems could be implemented with customer comfort as a primary focus to wide approval. On top of this, the media would pounce on such a revival plan for massive value while nearly free marketing. Sponsoring streamers  to play the newly revived Battleborn would fill the role of paying to run ads in spaces such as YouTube or TV, and could reach a much wider audience than the ads ever would.

With brilliant examples of healthy live service systems, and low initial costs in using a system that has already been designed, Battleborn has every opportunity to make big profit for the company that puts in just a little bit more effort to repair and reshine a game that was released before its time.
