Hello petition supporters,

I received a disconcerting phone call today regarding the progress of the Staff Report which recommends Toronto Humber Yacht Club have their lease request rejected.

It was my understand the as the lease request was denied in a footnote in the report that the General Governance Committee wasn't taking up the matter so I did not make an effort to depute at the meeting. 

Well as with all things connected to the incompetent and corrupt machinations within City Hall, this apparently is not the case.

THYC was better prepared with the lawyer & PR team than I was because of this misunderstanding and had many people misrepresenting their cause to the committee. 

Because of this, apparently the report was put over for council to debate on vote on. 

Effectively, it sounds to me like THYC has managed to gain support from certain council members to rise and fight for their side, regardless of the club's history and the fact the community apposes their presence on the property.

With this mind I feel we have to flood the mail boxes and telephone lines of all council members to be sure our voice is being heard.

Apparently the report will hit council on March 25. We need as many people to submit deputations as possible as well as attend the meeting. I'll let you know as soon as I have more information regarding the details.
