As a concerned parent and resident of Wantagh, NY, USA, I am deeply troubled by the current state of Sandhill Park. This petition aims to address the urgent need for the replacement and cleanup of this beloved community space.

Personal Story:
Sandhill Park holds a special place in my heart because it is where my two-year-old son experiences joy, laughter, and endless adventures. However, my excitement quickly turns into disappointment every time we visit this park. The once vibrant playground has become a haven for graffiti artists and a dumping ground for garbage. It breaks my heart to see such neglect in an area that should be cherished by our community.

Facts and Statistics:
1. Neglected Maintenance: Sandhill Park has been neglected by the town authorities despite numerous emails requesting cleaning and replacement efforts.
2. Graffiti Concerns: The prevalence of graffiti not only defaces public property but also creates an unsafe environment for children. In an effort to cover it the town has just sprayed over it with spray paint making it look even worse .
3. Garbage Accumulation: The constant presence of garbage poses health hazards to park visitors. 
4. Safety Hazards: The old and rusty equipment at Sandhill Park raises concerns about potential injuries among children who use it. Along with the inappropriate graffiti and garbage . The "woodchips" that were just replaced were also done sloppily and have un even high spots that makes it hard for the kids to walk on , there are also large chunks of wood .

We call upon our local government officials, specifically the Town of Hempstead , to take immediate action in revitalizing Sandhill Park as follows:

1. Replacement Efforts: Allocate funds towards replacing outdated equipment with modern structures that prioritize safety.
2. Cleanup Initiatives: Implement regular cleaning schedules to ensure that graffiti is promptly removed and garbage is properly disposed of.
3. Increased Prevention Measures: Install fencing along the children's area of the park to keep people out at night and avoid future graffiti , also add more lighting to the parking lot to avoid unwanted solicitors 

4. Community Involvement: Encourage community engagement through volunteer programs to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of Sandhill Park.
