Revise uga ticketing system for student resale rights

The Issue

As a first-year student at the University of Georgia (UGA), attending football games is an integral part of my college experience. Yet, I see my upperclassman friends missing out because of the cumbersome ticket transfer and resale process. We all know that Saturdays in Athens are legendary, but the current ticketing system can keep eager students out of the stadium and seats shamefully vacant.

The University of Georgia’s ticketing system is outdated and doesn't accommodate the vibrant and ever-changing lives of its students. Many times, students are left with no option but to forego their seats if they cannot attend, as the process of transferring or reselling tickets is so fraught with difficulty and constraints. Instead of facilitating an easy exchange amongst students, the system rigorously limits the flexibility we deserve. Football is a keystone of the UGA experience, meaning the flaws of the current system are a significant detriment not just to individual students, but the entire student body and university spirit as a whole.

We need a revamped ticketing system that allows safe and verified transfers and resales among UGA students. A peer-to-peer portal that is both accessible and secure can facilitate this. Such a reform would ensure that tickets end up in the hands of students who relish the opportunity to support their team and join their peers for memorable campus events.

Please sign this petition to push for a change in the UGA ticketing system and ensure that every student has the opportunity to partake in our beloved Saturday tradition. Your signature can make a significant impact and help us move towards a more inclusive and responsive ticketing mechanism for all UGA students.
