Revise Blackburn Rovers' away ticket priority system
The Issue
Blackburn Rovers' Rovers Rewards scheme has raised serious concerns among supporters because it appears to prioritise commercial spending over genuine football loyalty.
Points can be earned through purchasing merchandise, spending money on food and drink inside the stadium and other commercial activities. These points can then influence priority for limited away tickets.
Meanwhile, years of historical away attendance appear to carry very little weight in comparison.
To put this into perspective, historical away attendance has effectively been reduced to just 2 points, whereas purchasing 10 pies can generate 100 bonus points.
This raises a fundamental question: should a supporter who has travelled hundreds of miles, attended countless away matches and supported their club for years really be disadvantaged by somebody who simply spends more money inside the stadium?
The impact is being felt across the Blackburn Rovers supporter community, particularly when demand for away tickets exceeds supply.
Football supporters already spend considerable amounts travelling around the country. They should not feel pressured to spend even more money commercially just to improve their chances of getting tickets.
We believe loyalty should be measured by commitment, attendance and genuine support, not purchasing power.
We are calling on Blackburn Rovers to review this scheme, recognise historical away attendance and ensure commercial spending does not determine priority for away tickets.
Loyalty isn't for sale. Supporters deserve better.
