When families seperate and things get messy, often children are stuck in the middle of this horrible situation. Most of the time things can be dealt with amicably. When it can't, then the law gets twisted and often the parent who has the child gets favoured by the judge and the positive balance of both parents in the child's life isn't even considered. This has a detrimental factor on the mental health of children and the seeking parent. When all they want is a stable relationship with their child.

The way things are going more and more people taking their life or drinking their life away because of this injustice and inequity. Good parents not even given some sort of contact centre to rebuild that broken relationship. The lack of support out there for this is scary. The lack of human compassion or consideration in the mental wellbeing of both seeking parent and the child's life is worse. Many people in this situation feel hopeless and alone. The cost of lawyer fees is so unaffordable along with everyday life and most lawyers aren't accepting legal aid. Then Child Maintenance gets taken directly out of your wage even when ACTIVELY seeking to have contact with your child, is a form of EXTORTION. Some people shouldn't have their children, I know, but the majority of people seeking a relationship,  are good parents with a lot of love for their child or children.

The government needs to review and reform this more than ever. Times are changing fast and for decades a lot of parents have had to walk away with no hope of getting anywhere through courts and lawyer fees being far to expensive and the length of time it takes to get into a court with so many hearings before the opportunity fight your case when it should be processed much quicker as these are lifes and human bonds being broken between parent and child. As the cost of living goes up, we need to make it fair and accessible to parents who have a genuine want to see their children. We need to have the right professionals involved in these cases such as mediators, social workers and charities, basically the right people who are knowledgeable and experienced in dealing with children and families. This will create equity, peace, social justice and overall balance with children's best interests at heart. Thank you.
